So here's my thought of the day...
Why don't we have British accents?
I mean, we started off as a British colony, right?
Australians, Indians, they have accents. Why don't we?
I know that we are a melting pot and all that, but that means that these people came over speaking DIFFERENT languages. When they learned English, they still would have done it with an English accent, no?
Was it our major form of rebellion? Losing the accent?
